Aster Nox
Jam Happy Mystic Rock
Aster Nox is a sax-infused, tube-driven, out-of-body musical experience. The band - hailing from Hamilton ON - is known for its mystical lyrics weaved inside earthy, psychedelic roots rock.
In 2022, Marcus Starr (author, songwriter, guitarist) teamed up with saxophonist Cameron Draper to create an exciting group suitable for any music enthusiast and concert goer. Recruiting Rae Melvin on drums & vocals, Jesse Visser on bass & vocals, Greg Brisco on keyboards, the band went straight to work, performing music festivals across Southern Ontario while composing songs in between shows. By December 2022, the band recorded their debut EP: Tarot.
In October 2025, Aster Nox returned to Blue Tilt Studio, recording nine original songs. Their full-length album: MYSTIC was released April 20, and is available on all platforms.

What to Expect
Five highly-trained musicians – all of whom Applied Music Diplomas – who love to perform. The band adheres to each gig, meaning if it’s an afternoon outdoor family festival, you’ll get a set of snappy, upbeat, danceable songs perfect for family fun. The band has plenty of relatable songs and knows plenty of cover songs.
If, on the other hand, it’s a midnight freakout set, you’ll get up to three hours of jam-happy, psychedelic, country-infused rock perfect for late-night, adult fun.
It’s all about the vibe.
